Estoril’s Coast

Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean south and west, the Estoril’s Coast extends from Bugio to the northern boundary of the municipality of Cascais.
On the Estoril coast, the climate and natural conditions have been exceptionally friendly, both to humans, and, long before, to dinosaurs, whose footprints were indelibly found across the region.
Over the past 100 years, the Estoril’s Coast has walked to modernity; we will never surrender to its status of cosmopolitan exclusivity and relaxation and has therefore proved to be local election by many tourists.
The unique beauty of the coastline, the towns filled with testimonial stories, the mild and pleasant climate that promotes the practice of any sport, from fishing to tennis, from golf to horse riding, sailing and surfing, motorcycle and car, have claimed the Estoril’s Coast to be a place of excellence.
The proximity to the capital, an efficient network of transport and road access, the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park of rare beauty, two airports, numerous infrastructure hotels, 4 and 5 stars, the largest casino in Europe, a track and several fields a high prestige golf, are among the strengths that the Estoril’s Coast has to persuade tourists to stay longer... wherever your are in the region, everything is at your reach within half an hour by car.

Cascais Village

Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra de Sintra, Cascais was always an important tourist centre and received during and after World War II a large number of refugees and exiles, among which stand out the Counts de Barcelona , King Umberto II of Italy, Carol II of Romania and numerous figures of sporting and cultural landscape.
In the second half of the XII century, Cascais was a small fishermen and farmers’ village and from there seems to derive Cascais, plural of cascal (lots of bark), which must be related to the abundance of snails there.

With its beaches that invite to the practice of nautical sports, its rich heritage and culture, the majestic landscape of the natural park Sintra - Cascais, the lively nights, you will find many options and opportunities for fun and recreation in the Village of Cascais.

Vila de Sintra

"Sintra is one of those heaven lands where the divine hand sublimely carved nature, like wanting to leave us surprised by the beauty of His Work."

Sintra is a place to feel. It’s not enough just to talk about it or tell stories or describe their landscape. It is a place with spirit, a place that speaks to us inside.

The mystery surrounding the mountain, the landscape that surprises us, the inspirational and dreamer sea and the coast, its legends and ancient traditions, its unique people whose hospitality and friendliness is recognized, finally, all this and more where the words are not enough, Sintra is the Glorious Eden.

Admittedly, these are enough reasons for a visit to the Ediléia region. And if eventually aware of the transcendence of this sacred earth, then we can penetrate and truly feel Sintra.

Sintra offers a bit of everything: from palaces and mansions to densely wooded slopes, from gardens to romantic and exotic parks, from churches and monuments to excellent restaurants.
